Dave Carey
Executive Director
Dave has spent the last 24 years in various ministry positions, including nearly 14 years at Bethany College followed by over 7 years of pastoral ministry at Circle Drive Alliance Church.
While serving at Bethany College, Dave cultivated a passion for leadership development and looks forward to the opportunity to train youth and young adults within the ministry of camp. He has also loved developing leaders and seeing lives transformed within his ministry at Circle Drive Alliance Church.
Dave is married to Cora Lynn and they have two children: Jayden and Miranda.
Sarah Braun
Associate Director
Sarah has spent the last 10 years dipping her toes in many different types of ministries, gaining a list of diverse skills and knowledge. But out of all these ministry experiences none has been more impactful than her time at Redberry. She has previously been on staff multiple summers as the Program Coordinator and the Foundations Leader.
Sarah attended Bethany College from 2012-2014 and graduated from Horizon College and Seminary in 2023 with a Bachelors in Ministry Leadership. Her heart is to see young leaders grow in their own discipleship as well as in their love for Jesus. She loves to wrestle with theology and ask big questions about how the Bible and life of Jesus impacts our diverse culture. She's experienced tremendous growth at Redberry and is excited to be a part of helping others grow through camp as well.
George Hembery
Director of Programs and Development
George is part-time during Redberry’s off-season and his home base is at Dalmeny Community Church where he is the Pastor of Youth and Young Adults. Prior to this he was a long time youth leader and has worked at Redberry in various capacities since 2009. From maintenance to kitchen help, cabin leading to program coordinating he is very familiar with the workings of camp but has spent his last few years with Redberry as maintenance support and staff support.
George has felt called to youth ministry since he was young and attended Bethany College from 2012-2015 to pursue a degree. Whether at camp or at youth George can often be found where the fun is, building relationships through activities like ping-pong, bible study, bump, or plunging toilets. He treasures the opportunities he gets in his life to walk alongside, teach, serve, and equip young people on their journey with Christ and cannot wait to see that at work at camp in a new capacity.
George has two little ones with his wife Katelyn: Percival and Elanor.
Myrd Harder
Facilities Director
Myrd, Lisa & their family moved across Canada from Nova Scotia in the spring of 2015. We are so blessed to have Myrd as a superstar in the camping facility arena. Serving at camps for more than a decade all over North America from California, to Oregon, to Nova Scotia to now here in Saskatchewan.
Myrd and his family: Lisa (wife), Katie & Sara (children) live year round at the camp facility and are all an important part of our ministry here at Redberry.
Emma Berg
Office Manager
Emma has spent the last 8 years being a small part of youth ministry, including last year which was spent in Romania working with Youth for Christ working with youth and at camp. It was there that her love for camp ministry was reignited.
Emma has a passion for sharing God’s love through investing in the lives of youth and kids. She also enjoys being more a part of the behind the scenes in administration. This is where she feels her skills are more suited in the ministry of camp. Emma loves the culture at camp and is excited to see how God continues to work through lives at Redberry.
